Exactly one month ago, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill that gave gay couples the right to marry. I was tickled by the New York Times article entitled You’re Making Me the Bride? A Hiccup for Gay Unions. A gay couple from the East Village had tried to apply for a marriage license early. The marriage application in the city clerk’s office required the two men to choose either bride or groom. When this was brought to the attention of city officials, they quickly scrambled to expand their forms.
