Exactly one month ago, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill that gave gay couples the right to marry. I was tickled by the New York Times article entitled You’re Making Me the Bride? A Hiccup for Gay Unions. Apparently a gay couple from the East Village had tried to apply for a marriage license early. The marriage application in the city clerk’s office offered the two men just two choices: bride or groom. When this was brought to the attention of city officials, they quickly scrambled to expand their forms.
